What is Web Hosting?
Web hosting allows you to use email and have a web site using your domain name. Create you@yourdomain.com email addresses and advertise your web address as www.yourdomain.com.

It isn't cost effective to purchase a web server and a high speed 24/7 connection to the internet just to have your web site available on the internet. That is where web hosting companies come in. We purchase the servers and the connection, and then rent our server space to people like you. We give you the best server software and high speed internet connection, for a low monthly fee.
What is the difference between a domain and web hosting?
Web hosting is the provision of allocated space on a server that has a permanent connection to the Internet. This allows people from all over the world to see your website 24/7.
A domain is a unique name with an extension (.com , .com.au) that you register for yourself, your business or organization. These domain names are addresses which typically point to websites on web servers.
What payment methods do you accept?
We prefer credit card. Other payment types such as cash, direct deposit or cheque can be accepted. Please contact us for details.
Does DST Web Hosting offer a money back guarantee?
Yes, we have a 30-day, money-back guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with our hosting within the first 30 days that your site is live on our server, we will refund your money.
How can I move my website to DST Web Hosting without it going offline ?
Getting started with your website is very straight forward, requiring only a couple of steps to be followed. The first one would be to sign up for the plan and terms of your choice.
Your account will be activated within 2 hours during business hours and you will be sent instructions on how to upload your website to your server space.
Once you've uploaded all your site files and have setup your email accounts you then delegate your domain to our servers. This will be the longest process for the transfer, as it takes time for your domain changes to propagate to all areas of the Internet.
It is recommended you keep your current account active until the delegation process is complete(24-48 hours) so as to minimize any downtime. While your domain is being delegated, you can use the courtesy domain we give you to test your site.
How long will it take for my account to become active?
Your account is created within an hour or two during business hours. You can then start uploading your website, creating email accounts etc. Your temporary domain will be viewable on the web once you're setup, however if you have a domain you would like to delegate this will take 24/48 hours for the domain to propogate to your new host.
What is Plesk?
Plesk is the brand name of the software you use to manage your hosting account with us. Plesk produce a control panel called PSA which allows easy access to many of the server admin features without the technical knowledge normally required to manage a server.
PSA offers users the ability to do everything from creating email accounts to viewing reports to creating a database or even upload files.
How can I change my accounts password?

Log into the accounts area.

Click on 'My Info'

Click on 'Change My Password'

Enter the old and new password and click 'Update'.
How can I update my Credit Card details in the accounts area?

Log into the accounts area

Click 'My Finance' > 'Update My CC'.

Enter the card number, expiry date, and your accounts area password.
- Click 'Update'
(If you see the warning: [warning] Your Billing Method must first be changed to "CC Batch", you will need to contact us and request that we change your billing method from 'cheque' to 'credit card')
How can I upgrade my account?
You can upgrade your account at any time by emailing billing@dstwebhosting.com
We do not charge any additional fee to upgrade. Here's how it works;
We calculate the remaining credit on whichever plan you are currently on. We deduct this amount from the account you wish to upgrade to over the remaining period. For example, if you are 6 months into a 12 month term with us, you will have 6 months in credit. We will calculate the new package price over 6 months, then deduct the existing credit.
How can I view my individual invoices?

Log into the accounts area

Click 'My Invoices'.

In the 'Invoice Search' box enter the Invoice number you're looking for, or just leave that box empty and click 'Search' to view all invoices.
